A Conversation by Jina Wallwork
Solitude waits in silence for connection to arrive. Endless requests have been ignored because solitude doesn’t know how to ask for her presence. She doesn’t understand solitude’s voice because there is always someone else speaking at a higher volume. To her, silence is a distant fantasy, a small space between each collection of words. Solitude and connection, they are both two pieces of the journey destined to love each other for eternity, yet they’re struggling to communicate.
Connection is filled with the pain of sorrow and grief, but solitude has always known that this doesn’t diminish her value. When he clumsily reaches out, she tells him that he is wrong. The inevitable sorrow sits at the front of her mind. To unite only to experience this connection and then to have it fall away. She tells him that it isn’t worth it, she isn’t worth it. She points to a different direction and his heart breaks into a million nightmares that haunt his dreams and disturb his sense of peace.
Has connection forgotten her own soul? Distant from solitude, she has chosen not to explore her gifts. It is solitude that reminds us of our true nature. He struggles to tell her that connection is always worth any amount of pain and sorrow. There is no circumstance that can weaken her value. She is the bonds that hold all of existence together. She is the pure essence of unity.
